Kayla Gilchrist has built a prolific commercial real estate career as a professional with a knack for all things retail. Kayla was raised in a Wichita, KS, family of real estate agents and investors, where she developed an early passion for the industry and its power to create lasting value. Kayla firmly believes real estate is one of the smartest personal investments because it offers tangible assets, long-term appreciation, passive income, and the opportunity to make an impact on your local landscape.

After initially considering a finance career, Kayla gravitated to real estate for its hands-on, people-focused nature. She graduated with distinction from the University of Kansas, earning a degree in Finance and Accounting, and moved to Kansas City shortly thereafter.

Kayla partners with landlords to fill vacancies, whether in strip centers, power centers, or mixed-use developments. She has leased more than 70 properties comprising more than 1.6 million square feet.

Kayla also advises tenants searching for the right venue to accomplish their vision and operational needs, and has collaborated with top brands including Applebee’s, Hibbett Sports, Self Esteem Brands, Knitwell Group and Chicken Salad Chick. Still within the retail domain, Kayla assists investors in buying or selling properties and pad sites – offering strategic guidance to maximize value.

Kayla earned a CCIM designation and was named one of Ingram’s Magazine’s “20 in Their Twenties” in 2021. She has been recognized as a Top Producer by WIRED KC (Women in Real Estate & Development), and is a regular at ICSC events in New York and Las Vegas, where she connects with national real estate directors, landlords and other industry leaders.

When not working, Kayla enjoys life in Parkville, where she enjoys trying new restaurants, decorating her home, cooking, or planning her next trip. She shares her home with Rory, her lovable rescue Husky/Great Pyrenees mix, who keeps her on her toes and thoroughly entertained.
